Tides and weather
Show anglers the next five days’ weather and tides where you meet, the forecasts you check, and the weather on each coming date.
A Tides and weather block shows anglers the next five days at one of your meeting spots: the sky, temperature and wind for each day, sunrise and sunset, and the day’s tides. It fills itself, so you never update it. Beside it, a Links block lists the forecasts and tide tables you check yourself.
Add a tides and weather page
- Open the website editor with Website in the menu, and tap Pages.
- Tap Add a page and pick Tides and weather.
- Tap Add page.
- Tap the Tides and weather block and pick a spot under Where. To add one that isn’t there, tap Add a meeting spot and give it a Map pin.
- Change the links in What we check to the ones you use, add a harbour camera to the Videos block, and tap Publish.
You can also add either block to any page with Add block.
What anglers see
Five days from today, one tile each. Tapping a day shows its weather in a few words, sunrise and sunset, and its tides as a curve, with a sentence like “Rising, high tide at 16:37”. On today, a dot marks the water now.
The weather is over the day’s daylight hours. A spot left as Where most of your trips meet follows the spot most of your trips meet at.
On your Next dates block, with Weather on, each day shows its sky, and “Windy” when it is. An open day says its temperature and high tides in one line.
Where Gillie has tides
Tides show where Gillie has tide times near your spot. Where it doesn’t yet, the block shows the weather with sunrise and sunset, so it’s still worth adding.
When things go wrong
If the block says to add a map pin, open the spot from a trip under “Where do you meet?” and add one. A new spot’s forecast takes a few hours to arrive. A link without a name or address isn’t shown.
